To change the nesting level for a single item in the list, place the cursor anywhere on the item or select the entire item. To change the nesting level for a few or all items in the list, select them in their entirety.

If multiple items of different levels are selected in the list, each item is shifted one level relative to the current position.
To increase the indentation, follow the steps below:
–On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click
Increase indent.
–Right-click to open the context menu and run the Increase indent command.
–When working in macOS, run the Format > Alignment > Increase indent command from the main menu.
You can also increase a single item in the list by the following method:
1.Place the cursor in front of the first word of a list item or select it in its entirety.
2.Press Tab.
To decrease the indentation, follow the steps below:
–On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click
Decrease indent.
–Right-click to open the context menu and run the Decrease indent command.
–When working in macOS, run the Format > Alignment > Decrease indent command from the main menu.
–Press Shift+Tab.
